Hiking, Photography, and Blogging: How Nature Became My Free Therapy

Anyone who’s ever set foot on a trail already knows:: hiking is free therapy. No cost, no waiting room magazines from 2005, no therapist nodding silently while you cry into a tissue.

Just trees, sky, dirt, and if you lucky, mountains.

Nobody wakes up one morning, with their life perfectly together, and thinks, “You know what I need? To walk up a mountain until I can't breath anymore.”

Hiking usually creeps in when things get messy - because apparently, when life feels like death, the solution is… walking uphill on purpose.

But,as soon as you leave the trail, real life comes crashing back in.

That blissful, zenny version of you doesn't exactly thrive in the real world.

So what’s a hiker/blogger/over-thinker to do?

Hiking Photos: It’s Like Bottling Up a Little Piece of Calm and Saving It For Later.

For me, it’s simple: take photos, write about it, and pretend I’m doing something profound instead of avoiding real responsibilities.

Why Blogging Feels Like an Extension of the Trail

When I’m writing about a hike, I get to relive it. The air, the quiet, the way the sun slipped through the trees. It gives me pockets of peace, and some days, those pockets are what keep us from unraveling entirely.

So maybe give it a try—hike a little, snap a photo, write it down. You might be surprised how much peace you can carry back with you.

And if nothing else, here’s hoping these posts of mine help you carry a little pocket of peace back into your chaos.
