Hiking -The Mental Ammunition To Survive The Chaos Of Life.

Does weekend hiking actually do wonders for your mental health? Uuuuum....damn right it does!!

I’ve been hiking for about a year now, but I only really got serious (as in, hiking every single weekend...at least once) about eight months ago.

And yes, I’ve become THAT person -the one who won’t shut up about “how good it is for your soul.”

Exhausting, I know.

But honestly, my sanity depends on it.

Dramatic? Sure.

But if you had to climb a mountain just to feel like a functional human again, you’d be a little theatrical too.

Normally, by this point in the year, I’d be a walking meltdown - one badly timed coffee spill from completely losing it, obsessively counting down the days to annual leave like it’s a lifeline.

My idea of a break back then? Parking myself in one spot for days, binge-watching Netflix,

So - sitting still and spiraling.

Dramatically.

Now? Weekends feel like mini-vacations.

Fresh air, new trails - it’s almost offensive how effective it is.

The shift isn’t just temporary either.

It lingers - I’m calmer, slightly more patient.

Occasionally pleasant.

Let’s not get carried away - but still.

Will the Magic Wear Off? Probably.

Sure, there’ll come a day when hiking loses a bit of its sparkle - everything does eventually.

But right now? The impact is borderline offensive. I actually look forward to weekends.

I get excited.

Genuinely.

And the best part? No matter how chaotic the week gets, the trails are just… there. Waiting.

Patient.

Unbothered.

Ready to fix what broke.

A Gentle Nudge to the “Next Week” Brigade

If you’re still in the “I’ll start next week” club - congrats, you’ve been promoted to “just go already.”

Pick a trail - any trail.

It doesn’t have to be dramatic.

You won’t be grateful when you’re sweating like a malfunctioning sprinkler halfway up -but give it a minute.

The views hit. The air feels different. You realize you’re doing something mildly difficult and not dying.

Growth.

The Midweek Payoff

The real payoff doesn’t end with the trail.

It shows up later - midweek, when your coworker is testing your last nerve or your printer jams for the third time like it has a personal vendetta.

That’s when you scroll through your photos and remember: you did something real.

And suddenly? You’re slightly less likely to lose your mind.

Slightly.

Hiking doesn’t just give you memories—it gives you the mental ammunition to survive the chaos of life.

And on a final note… to those seasoned hikers: yes, I do salute you.

You’ve cracked the code, figured out the secret to staying sane, and made it look effortless while the rest of us were still bumbling around trying to “find balance”.

To the beginners, laces up.

And to everyone in between—see you on the trails!
